Please note that

  1. Hirers must be over 21.  The hirer has full responsibility for observing the conditions of hire.
  2. The Hall will not normally be available for hire for teenage parties.

A – Scale of Charges

Effective from 1st January 2024

STANDARD RATE

The hire will be based on the following hourly rates:

VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS & LOCAL CLUBS

For voluntary organisations and local clubs who are regular users of the Hall, it will be hired out by the hour at the following rates:

          Mornings & Afternoons          Evenings (from 5pm)

Main Hall and kitchen                      £7.00                              £7.00

ALL OTHER LOCAL REGULAR USERS

For all other regular users of the Hall, it will be hired out by the hour at the following rates:

Main Hall and kitchen                     £9.00                               £12.00

Kitchen/Meeting Room only          £5.00                               £5.50

NOTES:           Evening rates start from 5.00pm.

All booking times must be inclusive of set up & tidy up time

All Hall rules must be strictly adhered to otherwise an additional  payment   may be required.

An additional charge of £5 for bouncy castle use (to cover electricity costs)

B – CONDITIONS OF HIRE

Portmoak hall is the property of the community. We request your help in keeping it in good condition. When you hire the hall you undertake to abide by the following conditions :-

1. Leave the Hall as you find it. A sweeping brush and dustpan and brush are available in the kitchen cupboard.

2. Please put any bulk rubbish in the bin outside  (Especially food items and dirty nappies.) The key for the bin is behind the kitchen cupboard door.

3. No food or drink is to be left lying around

4. Tea-towels to be provided by users and removed after each meeting/event.

5. Turn off all lights and close all doors and windows. Remember the lights in the toilets.

6. If it is necessary to turn down the thermostats, please remember to return them to their original settings before you leave. Failure to do so means the next organisation to use the Hall will not have adequate heating.

7. Please keep to your booking times and finish promptly if another user is coming in after you. Please allow time for setting up and clearing up within your booked time.

8. The Hall must be left in a acceptable condition after use. Failure do to this will result in an extra charge. The cost to repair any breakages or damage falls to the person who hires the Hall.

9. The front door is to be used for entering and leaving the building. The fire exit doors should be used only in an emergency.

WATER:  If the Hall experiences an unexpected loss of supply or foul water emergency call Scottish Water on 0845 600 8855.

IN CASE OF FIRE

Evacuation instructions have been posted in each work area.

When fire is discovered:

•        Activate the nearest fire alarm

•        Notify the local Fire Department by calling      999.

Fight the fire ONLY if:

•        The Fire Department has been notified.

•        The fire is small and is not spreading to other areas.

•        Escaping the area is possible by backing up to the nearest exit.

Upon becoming aware of the fire, occupants must:

•        Leave the building using the designated escape routes.

•        Assemble in the designated area (car park)

•        Remain outside until it is safe to reenter.

The designated “USER” must:

•        Coordinate an orderly evacuation of occupants.

•        Perform an accurate head count of people who have reported to the assembly point in the car park.

•        Determine a rescue method to locate missing people.

•        Provide the Fire Department personnel with the necessary information about the facility and the number of persons in the group.
